Caitlyn Jenner, a disappointment.
Now, before you all sound the alarms, hear me out. When Caitlyn Jenner took the stand and voiced her inner turmoil of being stuck in a manai??i??s body, she took the world by storm. I, myself, was proud to see a celebrity speak up, regardless of the backlash she would undoubtedly suffer. The LGBTQ community needs as many members and allies to fight for the freedom to simply exists. Caitlyn Jenner could have been just that, a voice that refused to be quieted. Instead, Iai??i??m left with the sickening feeling that Caitlyn Jenner has become a media sensation for all of the wrong reason.
Let me start off by saying that I respect what Caitlyn Jenner has done, in that she has taken to many social media platforms in order to answer questions from young, impressionable men and women. Good for her. Sheai??i??s got a strong voice and she should use it. My concern is that, while she is stunning on paper, when she opens her mouth everything cringe worthy surges out. Everyone remembers the painful Ellen Degeneres interview right? Our darling Caitlyn confessed she was not accepting of gay marriage. She has since then said she has changed her mind, but to stand in front of a nation and negate part of her own community was utterly shocking and appalling. Now, Caitlyn has spoken out and endorsed Senator Ted Cruz, GOP presidential candidate for the 2016 election. While this might not seem like significant news to some, this is huge in the LGBTQ community and a great big slap in the face.
Sadly, Jenner is not spending her days exploring this newfound life. She has her own television show, has been on plenty of magazines, and has given multiple interviews. This is not a woman who will stand up for the Trans community for all the right reasons, this is a woman who will continue to be the face of the community because the money keeps rolling in.
